GATEWAY TO THE BUNDIAN WAY, FAR SOUTH COAST, NEW SOUTH WALES

Bundian Way Gateway Project (2016–2017)
This project involved working in close collaboration with Indigenous stakeholders and Traditional Owners at Jigamy, New South Wales, to develop interpretive design concepts for the Bundian Way, an Aboriginal cultural route that spans 350 kilometres from the Snowy Mountains to Eden. As part of a related teaching initiative, landscape architecture students were engaged in designing a campground at Jigamy, envisioned as a “gateway” to the Bundian Way. The design process was informed by local knowledge, stories, and aspirations for how visitors might respectfully connect with the cultural and environmental significance of the route.
