The University of Canberra was commissioned to prepare a vehicle and pedestrian access plan for the coastal town of Beachport, taking into account the rich Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultural heritage and uses of the area and surrounds, the dynamic natural systems that occur in the region, and the increase in population of the community during holiday periods. Accordingly, the report included design recommendations and visions based on interviews and interactions with locals and experts from the Beachport community between August and December 2014. University of Canberra landscape architecture students helped generate the report on the basis of a five day excursion to Beachport and meeting with local stakeholders, particularly from the Indigenous community.
